Global Screen has announced a raft of sales on its high-profile drama THIS CRAZY HEART, directed by the Oscar nominee Marc Rothemund (“Sophie Scholl”, “My Blind Date With Life”) and produced by Martin Moszkowicz and Oliver Berben of Constantin Film, to Spain (Flins y Peniculas), Portugal (Pris), South Korea (Yejilim Entertainment), CIS (Voxell), Taiwan (Encore Film), Czech Republic/Slovenia/Hungary (Prorom), and Brazil (Globo). Negotiations are still underway with distributors for France, Italy, China, Japan, as well as for a worldwide airline deal.
The German box-office hit THIS CRAZY HEART, with more than 2 million admissions, is a moving true story of joy and hope for the next day, of dreams and intense friendship. German superstar Elyas M’Barek ("Fack Ju Goehte 3", "Who Am I") plays the leading role, while Philip Noah Schwarz makes an impressive screen debut at his side. Marc Rothemund directs the story with plenty of emotion and at a rapid pace.
Some very good deals have also been posted for the action film DON’T.GET.OUT! by the genre specialist Christian Alvart ("Pandorum", "Antibodies", "Nick: Off Duty"). The film has sold to Japan (Open Sesame), Spain (Avalon), South Korea (Jayne Entertainment), Middle East (Gulffilm) and Brazil (Globo), with France and Italy in negotiation.
This high-suspense thriller features an A-list cast: Wotan Wilke Möhring ("Who Am I") delivers an outstanding performance as the sombre Karl, International Emmy® award-winner Christiane Paul ("The Wave", "In July") plays his distrustful wife, and Hannah Herzsprung ("Four Minutes", "Who Am I") the smart and sensitive bomb expert. The film was shot at some of Berlin’s most famous locations and produced by the genre powerhouse Syrreal Entertainment.
Global Screen will close more deals at the upcoming Marché du Film in Cannes. THIS CRAZY HEART will be screened on Wednesday May 9th, 10 am, Palais C and Friday, May 11th, 3.30 pm Arcardes 3.
