We have been delighted to be able to show his story - the whole story - unfiltered and exclusively to our Prime Video viewers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland," says Andreas Hartmann, Head of Content at Prime Video Germany. "The feedback from the audience and the press has been overwhelming, and we are sure that this moving documentary will also captivate viewers worldwide."
In Jan Ullrich - The Hunted, the exceptional athlete speaks about his life for the first time. We take an exclusive and critical look at Jan’s career, his successes and his dizzying fall from grace. Together with Ullrich viewers will travel to the locations of key events in his life: from his beginnings in Rostock to the scene of his great triumph in Paris, and then onto the setting for his darkest moments in Mallorca. "When it became clear that I would not get to see my children again, I went down a dark hole. Then came the whiskey and cocaine. That broke me." His eventful life is narrated by himself, his companions and his sporting rivals like Lance Armstrong, Richard Virenque, Ivan Basso and Bjarne Riis. Also, his wife Sara, his mother and his brothers talk about Jans successes and failures. For the first time, Jan Ullrich answers quite candidly those burning questions about doping. His doping-doctor Eufemiano Fuentes is also part of this compendious documentary.
