Global Screen closed its first major deal for THE COLLINI CASE, a thrilling WWII-related drama produced by Constantin Film in co-production with Seven Pictures, on the first day of the EFM. ARP Sélection has acquired all rights for France and is planning a wide release end of 2019. The deal was negotiated by Michèle Halberstadt (ARP Sélection) and Julia Weber (Global Srceen), on the basis of the script and a promo-reel which is available for screening at Global Screen’s suite in the Ritz Carlton. Strong interest has already been signalled from other territories as well, and Global Screen is in negotiations for further deals.
THE COLLINI CASE is a perfect match for the renowned distributor ARP Sélection who had already released German productions like “Farwell to Europe” and “The people vs. Fritz Bauer” in France with great success. The next German production “Balloon” will be released on April 10th in France.
This outstanding adaptation of Ferdinand von Schirach's international bestselling novel sees Marco Kreuzpaintner ("Trade“, "Beat“, "Summerstorm“) masterfully directing an explosive, spellbinding murder trial as he tests the bounds between morality and justice. Attorney Caspar Leinen seems trapped when he's appointed by the court to defend the suspect in a spectacular murder case. But he soon starts to unearth one of the greatest legal scandals ever, stretching back to the aftermath of Nazi Germany. The lead roles are taken by Elyas M'Barek (“Suck Me Shakespeer“, “This Crazy Heart”), Alexandra Maria Lara ("The Baader Meinhof Complex“, "Control“, "Rush“) and Franco Nero ("Camelot", "Django Unchained“, "John Wick: Chapter 2“). The Collini Case is produced by Christoph Mueller, Kerstin Schmidbauer and Marcel Hartges. Executive Producer is Martin Moszkowicz. The film will be released widely by Constantin Film in Germany on April 18, 2019.
