German World Sales company Global Screen has sold the free TV rights for its highly original youth series ZENITH – A SUPERCHARGED FAMILY to arte, the European Culture Channel. Arte will air the series as national premieres in both Germany and France starting in spring 2019. ZENITH – A SUPERCHARGED FAMILY is a captivating Sci-fi adventure series, in which a hacker girl, a namby-pampy warrior of 10 years and two overstrained parents have to fight their way back to a normal family life: the parents of Boris and Fay have replaced themselves with robots to dedicate themselves fully to their busy jobs, while the robots can take over the family life full time. But when the kids find out the fraud, they hack the codes and start programming their own version of their parents…
The entertaining and exciting series is produced by Dutch production company Lemming Film, whose track record includes “The Lobster”, “Zama” and the upcoming Vampire series “Heirs of the Night”. It was awarded the Jury Award for Best Fictional TV Production at the Cinekid Festival.
“We are delighted to announce that this outstanding youth series was picked up by arte,” states Alexandra Heidrich, Head of TV Sales & Acquisitions at Global Screen, “as this channel is known for the high quality of its program and airs directly to two key territories – Germany and France.”
Producer Fleur Winters of Lemmingfilm adds, “We are very pleased that our partner Global Screen managed to sell the show to the quality channel arte. It is a perfect platform for this qualitative and daring youth series and a well deserved recognition for the strong creative team of the show.”
