Zhang Chen is 11 years old and lives in Shanghai, China - with about 25 million inhabitants, it is one of the largest cities in the world. Zhang Chen likes the skyscrapers, and the way the neon lights illuminate the Pudong district at night. She lives in a high-rise building with parents and their dogs Bobo and Meimei. During the week, she attends a boarding school. It was hard for her to settle in at first, but she soon made a lot of friends. Like most children in China, Zhang Chen has very little free time. On weekends, she likes to make music. She and her friend play the piano, and Zhang Chen also sings and is learning to play a traditional Chinese instrument called the guzheng. It's her dream to become a successful singer.
