As an almost-forgotten saying has it, "The woods are healthy where the wolf howls". Between 1.000 and 3.000 Iberian wolves live shy and hidden in forests of holly oaks. The film shows how family packs communicate during the hunt and child-rearing, how hierarchies are fought out and how the young are socialized in the pack - and how wolves only hunt wild animals, attacking sheep or other household animals only when they are forced to. The impressive film shows how lone wolves hardly have a chance hunting alone, and the way an intact social life in the pack helps the wolves survive alongside humans.
