A Summer in the Alps - pictures that enable us to witness the vibrating life in this oftentimes extreme and inhospitable landscape. Once the snow starts to continuously vanish from the slopes of the mountains, life slowly returns to the high valleys of the Alps. Marmots awake from hibernation, chamois and red deer welcome their offspring and the flora shows off in its most wonderful robe. When the thick ice on the mountain lakes starts to melt the fish as well get back into life and toads and frogs start to mate and to spawn. On the lakes' surface ducks and coots fight with their rivals for the prettiest hen.
