Conny Mey and Frank Steier are called to the scene of a crime in inner city Frankfurt. The victim is Ramona Förster, a prostitute. From seedy reporter, Kurt Eggers they learn that there was a similar case in Offenbach six months previously. Could this be the work of a serial killer? Steier is afraid that Conny is becoming too emotionally involved in the case and warns her about it. She, though, is already on the trail of Ramona Förster's ex-husband. Everything points to him being the killer. But then another prostitute is murdered and Markus Förster appears to have an alibi. While Steier is busy at the station analyzing the case files, Conny Mey finds herself in a frustrating and stressful race against time which increasingly forces her to question her own identity as a policewoman.
