For the people from Toungoo Saw Mosche is the incarnation of success. Fifty years ago he started out as a little elephant boy, as an "ouzi". Working hard, with tenacity and skill, he persevered on the road to success - until he was able to buy his first very own elephant. A second one soon followed, then another one ... - today Saw Mosche is the proud owner of seven elephants. All seven animals work for him in the mountain forests of Myanmar, in a private camp. Twelve ouzis keep the camp and lead the elephants. Each day follows the same routine. Saw Mosche will never forget the first time he was allowed to take part in a khedda. They had already set up camp weeks beforehand in a region where the wild herd lived. Then they felled trees, carved thick stakes and finally constructed the huge stockade. It was a thrilling day when they drove the first group into the trap, in constant danger of being attacked by the powerful bull who was still at large. Then followed the weeks when the elephants were broken in, i.e tamed.
