Pilgrimage to Padua
Church caregiver and supermom Gundula is so concerned about her daughter Lena's romantic happiness that she joins a pilgrimage to Padua to pray for Prince Charming to finally come along. She drags her teenage son Michael along, with six other catholic Lonely Hearts, their parish priest and their thoroughly unbelieving and embittered bus driver Benno.
Before they reach their destination, however, the pilgrims' progress is impeded by a whole raft of problems, accidents, mishaps and catastrophes, finally leaving them stranded in a sleepy Bavarian village with the old bus in need of major repairs. Thankfully, the blessings of St. Anthony of Padua reach far enough to lead Gundula into Benno's arms, by way of many complications. When they finally reach the goal of their journey, Gundula's tender new romance is sorely put to the test...

Gundula, kirchliche Altenpflegerin und unbeirrbare Übermutter, sorgt sich so sehr um das Liebesglück ihrer Tochter Lena, dass sie sich einer Pilgerfahrt nach Padua anschließt, um dort für den richtigen Mann für Lena zu beten. Sie zerrt ihren Teenager-Sohn Michel mit in die Pilgertruppe, die aus sechs weiteren katholischen lonely hearts, dem Gemeinde-Pfarrer und last but not least Benno, dem durch und durch ungläubigen und vom Leben enttäuschten Fahrer des Reisebusses, besteht.
Um ans Ziel ihrer Reise zu kommen, haben die Pilger mit einer ganzen Serie von Pannen, Komplikationen und Katastrophen zu kämpfen. Zu allem Überfluss stranden sie in einem verschlafenen bayerischen Dorf, weil der marode Bus eine größere Reparatur benötigt. Zum Glück bleibt der heilige Antonius auch fern von Padua nicht untätig und führt Gundula auf verschlungenen Wegen in Bennos Arme. Doch als die Pilger endlich ihr ersehntes Ziel erreichen, wird Gundulas zart erblühtes Glück auf eine schwere Probe gestellt...
