Munich's Apes Move To The Jungle (149/268)

The time has finally come for the chimpanzees and gorillas in Munich's Hellabrunn Zoo to move into their new jungle house - and it really is a new world in which they will be living. Everything is different in the apes' new abode: plenty of space and climbing opportunities, a tropical climate and, above all, an experiment carried out here for the first time: interior areas with a natural grass floor. Even before the move, there is great excitement and anticipation: how will the chimpanzees and gorillas react to their new home? The zoo keepers are looking forward to seeing the apes explore this new world for the first time. Before this, however, there is the move itself - and this will be an exciting operation. For how does one move a gorilla family into their new home? A five-hundredweight male gorilla cannot simply be taken by the hand and led through the zoo to his new jungle home...
