St. Stephan's Cathedral in Passau, the city of the three rivers, the Church of St. Martin in Landshut and the Benedictine monastery of Schweiklberg in Vilshofen are just some of the religious treasures that have been conserved. The Bavarian administrative district of Lower Bavaria has been shaped by the Catholic faith primarily; a fact that is evidenced once again in the tiny chapels that are embedded in the hilly landscape of the Bavarian forest.
