Falconer Willi Holzer has dedicated his entire life to protecting birds of prey. He cares for them, teaches them to fly and then attempts to return them to the wild. He also endeavors to make the world a safer place for these majestic creatures.
Falconer Willi Holzer has dedicated his entire life to protecting birds of prey. Practically every stranded bird of prey in the area ends up in his care. Beforehand, the birds are thoroughly examined at the bird clinic and given any necessary treatment. Passers-by drop off young tawny owls which he then tries to reunite with their families; young peregrine falcons fall from their nest boxes and he attempts to return them to the wild. Not before helping them to build up their strength and learn to fly properly in his aviary.
Willi Holzer also tries, above all else, to counteract the many dangers that birds of prey face. And as a starting point for this, every year he maps the current sparrowhawk, Ural owl and eagle owl nests.
