Inspector LaBréa's latest case leads him into the phony and deceitful world of the movie industry, when famed producer Jacques Molin is found shot to death. It seems there are more than enough suspects with a motive, from his unfaithful widow to the entire crew of his latest movie - no one seems to shed a single tear for the victim. Molin had fallen out with both his director and his cameraman, while his leading lady was forced to submit to an affair with him, whether she wanted to or not. LaBréa wades into a mire of lies, deceit, hate and blackmail on his quest for the truth...
Kommissar LaBréa bekommt es mit einem Fall in der trügerischen Glitzerwelt des Filmbusiness zu tun. Der berühmte Produzent Jacques Molin wird erschossen aufgefunden, und Verdächtige für den Mord gibt es mehr als genug. Weder Molins untreue Witwe noch das Filmteam seines aktuellen Projekts scheinen dem Produzenten auch nur eine Träne nachzuweinen. Sowohl mit dem Regisseur als auch dem Kameramann war Molin zerstritten, und seine Hauptdarstellerin Caroline unterhielt mit ihm ein nicht ganz freiwilliges Verhältnis. Entschlossen macht sich LaBréa daran, das Geflecht aus Lügen, Betrug, Hass und Erpressung zu entwirren.
