After they leave their mothers, male bottlenose dolphins team up with another male and set off to explore the oceans together, forming a friendship that lasts a lifetime. Somewhere in the Caribbean, however, one such pair is struck by tragedy when one of the dolphins died. The six year old survivor must have felt this loss as if he had lost his own life. The psyche of the most intelligent creature in the sea could not help but be altered by the death of his best friend.
Along the coral reefs and beaches of the Caribbean islands, this dolphin went searching for others of his kind. It is a journey that lasted weeks and took him many hundreds of kilometers through the sea and finally to the island of Roatan off Honduras. It is a journey that made him famous and earned him a nickname: Han Solo, after the Star Wars character. At the end of his journey, however, something happened that has never been documented before. Han arrived at an enclosure that is home to a group of tame dolphins who regularly swim with tourists in the open waters. And because Han no longer wanted to be alone, he made a decision with profound implications. The wild dolphin decided to give up his freedom!
