The mysterious death of her childhood friend, real estate developer Oliver Griebnitz, turns lawyer Susanne Kröhmer's world upside down. The senator for urban development steps down, splitting the ruling coalition in city hall and leading to early elections for the Berlin city council. Susanne, a council member for the conservative CDP, decides to run for mayor on the spur of the moment. She's the underdog candidate, no one gives her a chance against the mayor of many years, Manfred Degenhardt. What Susanne doesn't know: Her own father is working with Degenhardt behind her back. Her partner Maik, with whom she wants to have children, is also against her running.
