The
murder of meat magnate Merklinger leads Berlin homicide cops Ritter
and Stark on the trail of crime and corruption in the bloody business
of modern butchery...
Berlin
meat-packing magnate Merklinger is found dead in the freezer of his
factory. He had been missing for several days after his mistress
Kathy reported him missing.
When
detectives Ritter and Stark arrive at the scene of the crime, no
workers are in sight. Only the victim's son Maximilian is there, who
treats the investigators with cold arrogance. He's in the middle of
negotiations with the Ukrainian Litvin brothers, who want to invest
in the company even though it was involved in a scandal with bad meat
a few years ago. The homicide cops find out Merklinger has been
emplyoing semi-legal Bulgarian workers, including the victim's
girlfriend Liljana. When she tries to flee with her brother, Ritter
gets beat up chasing them and winds up in the hospital with a
concussion. Even though he's not supposed to strain his brain, it
looks like he'll have to in order to solve this maze of corruption
and crime in the meat-packing business...
