When human remains are found in a drum full of acid, investigators Rubin and Karow find themselves plunged into the world of the illegals in Berlin.
In this latest case, demolition works in an area of allotments in Berlin reveal an acid-filled drum. When construction workers find human remains inside, Rubin and Karow are called in to investigate. Who is the dead person? The first clues lead to Saed Merizadi, owner of a small dental laboratory in Neukölln. Gradually, the investigators bring to light a tragic family story, amidst the world of illegals in Berlin.
On the side, Karow is also continuing his own personal investigation into the death of his former colleague Maihack which lands him in a dramatic situation.
