Foxes usually live in the cover of the forest, they are active at dusk or at night and many people only know them as carriers of rabies or as victims of traffic accidents. Rabies has been more or less eradicated in Germany and the fox population is increasing. Man now has to intervene and regulate this upsurge, and thus a diurnal animal (i.e.active by day) has become a nocturnal animal, keeping out of our sight. However, when foxes feel safe, then they also leave their dens during the day. Thus it was possible to make a film about the adventures of a young female fox who struggles through life alone. The film shows how she takes her first steps into the great forest and how she copes with her lonely existence - displaying great ingenuity and bravado.
