Cinderella bravely tries to take her late mother's advice to heart: "Never give up hope!" But her evil stepmother rules her father's household with an iron fist. Cinderella has to work from dawn to dusk and sleep on cinders, while her stepsister enjoys all the comforts of a lady. Then the king decrees a ball, which all the unmarried daughters of the realm are to attend, so the prince may find a bride. Cinderella's evil stepmother already sees herself as queen mother: Her daughter will be the one to win the prince's love! While stepmother and stepdaughter do everything they can to keep Cinderella from going to the ball, the girl shows up in a stunning dress and steals the Prince's heart, Stepmother and daughter chase Cinderella away from the ball, leaving the Prince only her shoe. Determined and in love, the Prince sets out to find the girl the shoe fits....
