A pair of female detectives with their fingers on the pulse of crime, who are as different and unpredictable as the cases they solve.
On her way home from work, a waitress is kidnapped. She later wakes to find herself tied up in a cellar. Her kidnapper demands that the police investigate a crime: a child abuse ring that has been operating out of the cellar of a Dresden pizzeria. The kidnapped children imprisoned there are being abused, he claims. His ultimatum: The police must rescue all the prisoners from the cellar of the pizzeria within 24 hours or Brigitte Burkhard will die. Detectives Gorniak and Winkler and their boss Schnabel start investigating immediately, but they cannot find Brigitte Burkhard, nor is there any trace of any crime in the pizzeria. When Schnabel appeals to the public, the kidnapper kills his prisoner. Next morning, Schnabel himself is taken by the kidnapper. Gorniak and Winkler manage to identify him: Michael Sobotta has spent the last eight years searching frantically for his daughter Zoe, who went missing on a school trip. Her teacher's name was Brigitte Burkhard. Sobotta, who has since sunk deep into the quagmire of crazy conspiracy theories, gives the detectives a new ultimatum. They can save Schnabel's life by finally uncovering the pedophile ring. A video of police allegedly storming the place where the children are being held goes viral and Schnabel is freed. The detectives arrest Sobotta.
