Leonie and Carsten meet for the first time since the grievous night in court. Carsten has Hauser representing him while staying silent himself, while Leonie now as a witness has to relive and describe in detail the entirety of the events in front of everyone in the room . Afterwards she is grilled by Hauser who presents her as opportunistic and unreliable. During the course of the day of the trial, Leonie and her lawyer, Adèle Sonko, are surprised to learn that Jonas has made a statement. Leonie's lawyer seems optimistic that they will now win the case. At the end of the first day of the trial Carsten tries to gather his family with another dinner. He also invites Jonas who turns up drunk and accuses his father of always having been grossly disrespectful of other people's boundaries. Later, Carsten receives a text from Leonie who suggest s meeting up. Clara’s husband learns about her affair with Hauser and furiously leaves the family dinner Cornered, Clara put's Jonas under massive pressure: He should retract his testimony during his summons on the second day of court
to save the family.
