Helene is a marvellous girl - friendly to everyone, always helpful, very animal-loving and hard-working. But what her wicked stepmother Gertrud demands, even for the capable Helene, is not possible. When her desperation is at its greatest, Fairy Cleo suddenly appears. All of a sudden Helene succeeds in fulfilling the ever new wishes of her insatiable stepmother. Even a castle is built in the bear forest. When Gertrud learns that Prince Lassmann is supposed to pass by her castle while hunting, she wants to catch the prince and lock Helene up in the cellar. But things turn out differently. And when the prince actually appears, he falls head over heels in love with Helene.
