Simson(17)is a successful "prankster". He plays practical jokes on people, films what unfolds and broadcasts it live on the Internet. These hoaxes are Simon's job, and have brought him significant fame and a great deal of money. While playing a prank on a local rock group, Simson is shot by an unknown attacker. Despite there being any number of people who witnessed the crime in person and live on the Internet, there are no reliable descriptions of the attacker. Detectives Henni Sieland and Karin Gorniak dive deep into the world of social media stars, where they must face the fact that they don't know a great deal about these hugely popular teenage idols or the business structures behind them. Along with avaricious managers and unscrupulous competitors, the detectives meet a doctor whose black-market trade in prescription medicines was uncovered by Simson.
Sieland and Gorniak receive invaluable assistance from the young Emilia(15), who not only adored Simson but had also known him personally and helped him.
