An authentic and highly entertaining dive into the eighties in Germany, where – during the peak of the Cold War – open relationships were put to the test and the environmental movement gained steam. Anna Florkowski delivers a stunning performance as Ursula, a free-spirited and modern girl, born into a conservative family, still bound in the hidebound patterns of female self-restraint. Florian Stetter ("Beloved Sisters", "Stations of the Cross") and Thorsten Merten ("Grill Point") round out the cast. Hermann Beyer ("Dark", "The Elementary Particles") has a hilarious turn as the girl’s grandfather, stoically hushing up his presumably Nazi past.
West Germany in the 1980s: Ursula is 17, smart and pudgy. Her lonely teenage life is turned upside down when progressive leftist teacher Siegfried Grimm appears in her classroom. Grimm is the first person who really sees and understands Ursula. He holds self-liberation workshops with friends on an organic farm, and peaceful protests against nuclear energy and the arms race. Ursula falls head over heels in love with the charismatic teacher and does everything to join his non-violent movement. Too bad Grimm liberates the whole village sexually, including her mother, except for Ursula. When she realizes how Grimm is playing with her, she plots her revenge …
