Chief inspector Felix Voss moves to Nuremberg to take over at the helm of the Franken Homicide Division. He has an unusual empathy, and a determination, which can turn radical in an instant, but with which he can solve cases and bring perpetrators to confess. Outwardly, he is generally cheerful, but inside he is hiding unresolved issues which frequently enable him to get close to offenders. In Franken he meets the incumbent chief inspector Paula Ringelhahn, inspector Wanda Goldwasser and the head of forensics, Michael Schatz.
