When an Istanbul real estate mogul is killed, Inspector Mehmet Özakin has to dig into a maze of corruption and fraud to try and piece together the deadly puzzle - and almost becomes a victim himself.
The death of an Istanbul construction-company manager seems connected to the city's left wing activists, leading Mehmet Özakin and his squad into a labyrinth of murder suspects and motives. Even the son of the dead developer Mahmoud Erbil seems to be a suspect: Not only is he not grieving over his father's death, he has been having an affair with his stepmother. And now he's on the run. Powerful businessman Dursun Kara also has a motive for the murder. So does widow Nihan, who lost her job at the construction company after her husband committed suicide, so she illegally downloaded data from Erbil's computer. What's behind it all? In the middle of the investigation, architectural engineer Tufan Ünsal is killed when he wants to meet Mehmet in secret, and Mehmet is knocked out. What did Tufan want to tell Mehmet? Mehmet keeps digging and finds himself deep in the mire of subsidy fraud, kickbacks and greedy real estate developers?
